Don’t break the bank!

A few years back I was involved in eight weddings; from being a bridesmaid, the maid of honour to being a destination wedding guest.  When all was said and done I had broke my bank. It was a very costly year and took me a long time to recoup from all my spending.

So the next year I got smart. I decided to take local art classes to make homemade, one of a kind items that I used for Christmas, birthday, and wedding gifts . It was way nicer and in my opinion, more thoughtful to create gifts that were unique to my friends. Trust me, learn from my mistakes and don’t break the bank!

Check your local area to see what kind of classes are available. Over the past few years I have been able to find a variety of classes in my area ranging from; pottery, jewelry casting, photography, stained glass, woodworking, encaustic, welding sculpture, and glass fusion.  If you don’t have a local college, university, art centre offering general interest classes see if any of the local artists in your area offer workshops. You just might be surprised to discover some very cool and wonderful programs in your area.
